Interpreting Iron Studies

Interpreting iron studies is an essential skill in clinical practice, however many practitioners are not confident in accurately assessing and interpreting the results. Have you ever had clients complaining about symptoms associated with iron deficiency, yet they have been told their iron levels are “fine”? Do you get confused about the differences between transferrin, transferrin saturation and total iron binding capacity? Are you able to differentiate between nutritional iron deficiency and functional iron deficiency? Maybe you are struggling to increase your patients iron levels and you’re not sure what to do next?

This webinar is designed to provide practitioners and students with all of the information they need in regards to interpreting iron studies and covers the following information;

  1. The background on iron metabolism and its physiological role in human health
  2. How to clinically assess a patient’s iron status
  3. How to interpret serum iron, transferrin, transferrin saturation, total iron binding capacity, ferritin and the soluble transferrin receptor analytes
  4. How to use other markers such as the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, monocyte to lymphocyte ratio, haemoglobin, red cell distribution width and mean corpuscular volume to assess your client’s iron status more holistically
  5. The causes and contributing factors of iron deficiency and iron overload
  6. Therapeutic strategies beyond iron and vitamin C that are essential in optimizing your client’s iron status

This webinar is designed to teach practitioners a skill that they can use to achieve better health outcomes for their clients. In this webinar, you won’t receive gimmicky apps or programs that will analyze the blood tests for you, instead you will learn tangible, practical clinical skills, so that you never feel unsure about how to approach iron deficiency, or iron overload again.

This is a live webinar which will walk you through a step-by-step process of assessing your patients iron status. It will also provide you with meaningful and effective therapeutic strategies to address your patient’s abnormal iron markers.

Sign up today and receive 25% off the normal price.

This webinar will be held on Wednesday the 17th of March at 6 pm – 8 pm (AEST). A recording will be made available for all attendees. You will receive a zoom link to the webinar once you have signed up.
